Fiat’s 500L MPW is now on UK sale, arriving in showrooms alongside the 500L as the newest member of Fiat’s expanding small-car family.
The 500L MPW is effectively a people-carrier version of the extended-wheelbase 500, and can be bought in either five-seat or 5+2-seat versions.
Fiat says that as a five seater the car is a credible alternative to a traditional C-segment estate, roomy, with a 638-litre boot but at least 20cm shorter overall than the average estate.
As a people carrier the car is described as the most compact 5+2 seater in its segment, measuring 4,352mm in length, 1784mm in width and 1,667mm in height.
It can also still offer the same load-carrying level of the five-seat version when its rearmost seats are folded flat and stored neatly under the boot the floor.
As in the 500L four engines are available – the 94bhp 1.4-litre petrol (in five-seat only); a 104bhp 0.9 TwinAir petrol; 84bhp 1.3 MultiJet diesel (also available with the Dualogic automatic transmission) and the 104bhp 1.6-litre MultiJet.
The 500L MPW comes with two trim levels, the familiar Pop Star and Lounge, and nine different exterior colour choices, plus a variety of contrasting roof and mirror colour combinations, and a range of alloy wheels in different sizes, styles and colours.
Prices start at £15,795 for the 1.4 Pop Star while the seven-seat versions range from £17,990 for either the TwinAir 104bhp Pop Star or 1.3 MultiJet 84bhp Pop Star.
